The Self-Catering Industry has changed drastically in the past 10 years becoming a more professional business with owners getting together to discuss the changes and improvements in the industry. The European Holiday Homes Association (EHHA) is based in Brussels and brings together many European country Associations in the one group. The Irish Self-Catering Federation is one of Europe’s oldest associations, having been set up on 19… . The federation is managed by its members and offers a wide variety of benefits to members.
This is the 6th year we are involved int eh Holiday Home Awards for members of the ISCF. It will be possible to enter new holiday homes until 23/09/21 with information and images. We would be delighted if as many members of the ISCF as possible enter this EU competition. The winners of the awards will be announced at the EHHA General Assembly in Malaga on 27/01/21.
The Cottages Ireland in Bettystown, Co Meath were the overall winners in 2016 for the Best Holiday Beach Home in Europe.
In 2018 Dunmanus Cottage in West Cork was in the final of Awards as one of EU Best Nature Tourism Self-Catering Properties. Maire Ni Mhurchú owner stated that the awards brought a lot of media attention and bookings to her property.

The Irish Self-Catering Federation are delighted to give a new members special offer on fees to those who join the federation in September 2021. This offer is time-limited to September 2021. The benefits of joining the Irish Self-Catering Federation are as follows:-
Representation – The Irish Self-Catering Federation is the national body representing the owners of the Self-Catering properties in Ireland. The ISCF represents the industry in discussions with Failte Ireland, Tourism Ireland and other Government Departments.
Quality Assurance – All properties in ISCF must have a Quality Assurance Scheme Certification badge on own website and social media platforms.
Marketing – on LetsGoSelfCatering.ie new website. For group schemes or managers, the membership will allow for up to 30 properties to be listed. Can purchase 20 more properties, a payment will be requested. The site will represent the industry internationally and be promoted by Tourism Ireland in the International markets. Bookings will go through to your site (Using an API you provide).
Lobbying – Lobbying is carried out at national and EU Level on behalf of the Self-Catering Industry.
Logos – Use the ISCF Logo on your own website. Allowed to apply for Covid-19 Safety Charter, managed by Failte Ireland and accessed by Self-Catering Federation.
Advice, Networking and Training – Bi-Monthly Newsletter, in time of Covid members have been informed of all Government advice and supports. Ezine and learning links to manage your Self-Catering business, Access to AGM and other learning zoom meetings.
For existing members who introduce a new member to join the federation a 10% discount will be offered for the next membership renewal. For any member who introduces a new member to the Federation, the 10% discount applies, within your own fee structure section.
